Who we are

Gigi Leather designs and manufactures leather goods in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, and sells them through our own stores. This website presents our brand, collections, workshop, and stores, and lets visitors send retail messages or wholesale and private-label inquiries.

Information we collect

Contact form. When you send a message we collect your name, email address, subject, message, and your consent confirmation. We also collect technical anti-spam signals (for example Cloudflare Turnstile tokens and form timing) that are used only to reject automated submissions.

Wholesale inquiry form. When you start a partnership inquiry we collect company details, your name and role, email, phone (if provided), buyer type, quantity and timeline bands, product interest, message, and consent. The same anti-spam signals apply.

Technical and usage data. Our hosting and content providers may automatically process IP address, browser type, device information, pages requested, and timestamps needed to deliver and secure the site. We do not run a separate advertising pixel stack on this site as of the date above.

How we use information

We use the information you submit to respond to your message or inquiry, route wholesale conversations to the right team, keep a record of correspondence, improve our forms and spam controls, and meet legal obligations.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use inquiry details for third-party advertising.

Where information is stored and who processes it

Inquiry and contact submissions may be stored in our Sanity content backend so our team can review them, and may also be delivered by email through our transactional email provider (Resend) to Gigi Leather inboxes.

The website is hosted on infrastructure that may process request logs outside Ethiopia. Cloudflare may process Turnstile verification data for bot protection. Each provider acts on our instructions and under their own privacy terms for the services they provide to us.

How long we keep information

We keep contact and inquiry records for as long as needed to complete the conversation and for a reasonable business archive afterward, unless a shorter or longer period is required by law. Anti-spam tokens are not retained as customer profiles.

Cookies and similar technologies

Essential cookies or local storage may be used for security (for example bot challenges) and to operate the site. We do not use non-essential marketing cookies on this site as of the date above. If that changes, we will update this policy.

Your choices and requests

You may ask us to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to restrict how we use it, subject to applicable law and any records we must keep. Contact us via the Contact page and tell us which address or inquiry your request relates to so we can find the right record.

You can choose not to submit forms. The site remains usable for browsing collections, stores, and brand information without creating an account — we do not offer customer accounts on this website.

Children

This website is aimed at adults interested in our products or wholesale partnership. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

We may update this policy when our practices or the law change. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the site after an update means you have read the revised policy.
